first off, im looking at an '83 chevy shortbed/single cab truck, 4wd, 4'' lift, 35'' tires, 4spd, "brand new" crate 350 engine with 11k miles on it, freshly built tranny, umm...cant remember the rest, he said everything has been "worked over", all the gears, 4wd etc...what would be a fair price for this?

also, what should i look for when i drive it and look it over?
from what ive seen it looks good so far, but you never know what could be hidden and what not..just want to make sure i dont get the shaft

I wouldnt pay more than $5000 for it, just for the fact its a 83. Just check all the fluids and makes sure it rides and handles good. Check bushings and what not on the suspension.

 

he's asking 3500 for it, merely for all of the thigns hes done to it recently, namely the motor..
i figure if it checks out and seems in good shape ill offer 2800 and pay no more than 3k
