they set the bar in their own eyes, whats they think is right or good, its proven over the years to have no effect, how about we care about the rest of the world before we steal every dollar from the cali people setting the bar
this state is a effin joke, hell the us is becoming a joke, sell out to itself

i never heard of a smog cam thats why i said it, i hear a lot of parts being referred to smog legal when in reality they are no different
I agree 100% ..ACLU-CARB-KKK all the same as far as I am concerned

Custom PCM tune, cam and heads, supercharger....there's a lot that you can do and still pass smog. Bill (trever1t) lives in Cali and he's running 11's

Yeah, you're right, but he also hasn't had to go through a SMOG check yet........

Lightbulb Two other options, as those Bassanis only "work" for 6.0's without A.I.R.

I passed Cali smog with flying colors and a cam with -8 overlap. Thanks to a BlackBear tune (plug) it's probably putting out cleaner emissions than factory (which I think it was as I remember). I run 12's N/A with around 400hp+, soon to be 11's with approx 450hp+ and Cali smog passable. Stock cats, mid-lengths, mild setup blah blah blah

If you want CA smog legal headers Bassani makes a mid-length Ca CARB legal headers. Best option out there. Don't waste time with shorties.
You could also look at Doug's Headers 3353 mids, or the Thorley Tri-Y 310Y model headers. They too, are E.O. blessed/tested/embezzled/pork-supporting.

I will be installing LTs >high flow cats >cut outs>stock muffler, when ever I need to do smog check I will put my stock headers back on. Its about 3-4 hrs of work with out air tools and every two years.

This is a case where it works out to be in Cali...I'd need an air chisel, whizzer, and new hardware if I had to swap out my exhaust every two years. One of the drawbacks of northeast weather

I hate to say it but I researched those as well. The D-374-3 E.O.# references the model# 531500 (EGR port only) and 531503 (option with EGR and dual A.I.R. ports) headers which are actually included in Bassani part #601500/601500C per there install document found here>http://www.bassani.com/downloads/pdf...ad-Only%29.pdf . The headers are listed on the E.O. database website as having the E.O.# only for model year 1999-2003 trucks. This might end up being an issue seeing he has a 2004. I know that instruction manual I linked to was for 1999-2004, although CARB hasn't updated their database to include 2004's, and someone might put up a stink about it come test time.
