Picked up a used HPP3 for the 99 Tahoe a month ago (Thanks Dave U) and finally installed it into the L31/5.7 2WD Tahoe.
I don't have the 160F stat in yet, so I did not select that.
I did select the performance tuning, and revised shift points. I did not pick shift firmness.
I put 1/2 tank of 92 octane to dilute my 87.
I can spin the tires now for about two feet, and the truck has nicer shift extension, it was totally worth it.
I'll do the stat soon and then run the truck the way I did last time, w/o the jack and spare.
255/55/18 =29.0 tall?

Before the HPP3 I could barely bark the tires from a dig, maybe 1 out of 5 attempts, and now I can do it every time and the truck really feels great.
I need to install the Yank 2500 stall, 160 stat, new plugs wire and a new fuel filter and then see where I'm at.

I'm glad you're happy with it John. When you do the 160 stat you will see more of an improvement.Make sure you keep your stock one for the winter. It get's real cold in Chicago and the 160 stat will take a while to heat up in sub-zero weather. Dave
