Default 99 z28 cam on 99 5.3l

Will a 99 z28 cam work on a 99 5.3 gmc sierra? and if so do i need to change anything on the 5.3, like springs or anything else. Do i need to reprogram the pcm or can it stay the same.

Thanks

David, here are the specs on both cams.

Part #'s 12557812/1256965 (part # change mid 1998)

-2001-2002 LS1....196/207 .467/.479 116

LR4, LM7, LM4

-1999....191/190 .457/.466 115.5
Part # 12560966

-1999-2003....191/190 .457/.466 114
Part # 1256097 (Some 1999's had this cam)

As far as springs and pushrods, you should be fine with the stock springs since the max lift for these are .500.
