799 heads???

Default 799 heads???

guys are the 799 heads on the new 07s the same flowing and everything like the old 03 and 04 heads? or are they diffrent?

We've been discussing this for a while. Seems the 799 heads are first seen in 2005 on the 5.3L33 and the LS2. They have larger valves and supposedly are interchangable with the 243 heads.
I read on the corvette forum that a few guys had one of each???

what would u think of milling them .30 and doing ls6 valves on them ...i am going witha a 220/220 cam should that combo work or what can i do to my 799 heads

I'd leave them alone or mill them a little if you want to increase CR but for that cam neither are necessary. All I did was swap to 918's (springs) and mine are holding up fine

well i wanted more flowing....i was going to do ls6 valves with a 3 angle valve job and mill them .30 and do some pocket porting what u think???

afaik the valves in the 799's are the same as the 243's. Contact Richard @ WCCH, I'm sure he can offer better insight on working them than I can.
