Default 6.2L Resonator Removal

Is it ok to just leave the pipe as is after cutting the resonator off, or should I have something added to direct it away from the tire? I haven't been able to get a good look, but it "seems" like there will be adequate space. Any info is appreciated

I took mine off replaced it with straight pipe,likes it for awhile, then hated it ,it went back on, very happy about that.Its great if you like noise vibration and drone.
