I'd go as far to say that the 6.0 is not really as good as people on here make it out to be. For some reason these LSx motors just don't make good power down low. For a stock truck, the 6.0 is very good, but it's still slow. That being said, you're hardly putting a stock motor in your truck. I think you'll be impressed

You never said but what rear end ratio do you have?
I'm running 3.73's with a g80 . Also I am wanting to agree with you. But we'll see, I'm being realistic here and trying to ring the most streetable power I can out of this thing. I realize it won't be any big block because it can't. I think it should run strong for what it is but that's all it will be. Proof is in the pudding though.

I think 12's are optimistic but we'll see........... I'll be happy if I can hang with a stock camaro SS or LS2 GTO. Those were pretty much the 2 vehicles I had in mind when I was looking for a performance goal.

Good luck man!! If you don't mind me asking- around how much will your swap set you back? I've been wanting a 6.0 with a cam for a while but don't know if spending a good chunk of money will be justified!!. Videos as soon as you are done please!!!

I think there is a huge overmagnification of G80 failures here.

Parish ran his up to 1000rwhp before it finally popped. Mine still seems to be peeling both tires out with 144+ on the clock, no noises or anything.

If you are able to spin both tires together the g80 might hang in there for a while. When one tire lets go at 40mph it won't be long before you start having problems.

Maybe it's also possible that Parish had reduced pressure on the G80 due to the 4WD launches. Also, I thought the G80 didn't function over 20mph?

i beg to differ on the 6.0's. if u build it right and have a professonal tune these things can put out some impressive power for being a small block. i have a 2006 chevy crew cab that weighs roughly 5800lbs i have been told, with a Stock bottom end lq4 stock 241 heads from an ls1 custom grind cam with .601 .608 lift on a 112 lsa full bolt ons built 4l60e with a 3600 stall and 3.73's went 12.6 at 105 mph with full weight minus the tail gate an thats in south tx where it's hot and humid. i say give the 6.0's a little more credit. oh yeah and a 100 shot of laughing gas just to scare the crap out of those ss and gto's lol
