Default 6.0L Oil Cooler?

Do factory 6.0L block set-ups come with external oil cooler plumbing? Either radiator or stand-alone cooler?

Thanks

Mine did. It was a salvage yard engine so the piping was hacked, but it had a plate bolted on the driver side of the pan above the filter that had 2 pipes coming out. I switched the blockoff plate from the stock motor, since I had no use for an oil cooler.

Did that piece w/ the two tubes also have a boss for an oil temp sender like the block off plate? I tapped the stock block off plate for my oil temp sender, now I'm looking at that factory piece to run an oil cooler and am wondering if I will be able to tap it for the sender like I did w/ the block off plate.

Thanks again...

I'll look tonight, can't remember for sure, but I am in the middle of putting the 5.3 back in and I have to swap the plates again and that is on the agenda for tonight.

Yep the "Block" has at least one plug maybe two. You should be able to tap an oil pressure sending unit in the block.

Ok, thanks guys. I went down to the chevy parts desk. We found the part # but they didn't stock it so I couldn't look at it. Looks like 6.0L blocks need this piece to aid in the cooling, must have less water sleeve capacity compared to the 5.3L block.

I think the 6.0L blocks get it because they are most likely being used in more stressful situations then a 4.8 or 5.3. Probably part of the towing package or something.

I have a pic of a turbo setup on an LS1 that uses what the person who had the picture thought was a plate from a truck. It has two oil lines coming from it if I remember right. let me find it and I'll post it up.

Here is that pic. You can't see the plate but, the two smaller braided lines are hooked to it and are used as oil feeds to the twin turbos.
