Default 6.0 in the works...

alright I found me a damn good deal on a 6.0 out of a 05 Denali with 28k miles... will be going to pick it up tomorrow, and hopefully it will be installed in about 4weeks.... planning on going with a 226 cam, .58x lift and on a 112lsa....

do ya'll think mid 12's is possible on motor???

by the way, I think I have my 5.3 sold too, just as it is, cam and everything for $900, do ya'll think that is a good price???

by the way is this 6.0 a LQ4 or LQ9???

what all is included with your motor? 900 seems fair to me. hell i would take 1,100 for my motor and that includes intake to oil pan with throttle body, injectors, rails, plugs, wires, factory exhaust manifolds, factory Y pipe, water pump, all brackets, an alternator, clutch fan and factory fan shroud...basically ill be selling it to someone who wants to swap their 4.3 to a 5.3.

Lucky...I wish I could find a good deal on a 6.0. I am almost postive that it is the LQ4 because I think it only has 335 ft. lbs. of torque while the LQ9 has like 380 or something like that. If you get all the supporting mods, a 12 shouldn't be out of the question...

It's a LQ4 that's what the Denalis come equipped with through the very first year witch I think was 01. They just changed a little in the power ratings throughout the final year,06.

I think overall with the cam and supporting mods you'll definetly be in the low 13's and high 12's will be very close.

AP, i'm interested to see how this turns out for you. I'm in the process right now of researching cam/crank/pistion, ect... choices at the moment for a 6.0 block. I don't know if it will be N/A, F/I, or NO2. Lots to choose from. What are your goals for this engine build?

you should be around the same times as myself with that cam. only diff is if you have head work done or not? also with my headwork my compression is around 11.5:1.

i'm looking for a high 12 out of it and would love to see a mid 12. keep in mind i went 13.2 with a burnt piston and no traction... but no matter what you run i'll stay a few tenths ahead of ya. lol

like most said probably the LQ4(325HP). I thought I read some where that the newer D came with the LQ9 but I could be wrong. The LQ9 has 345 HP. LQ4 or LQ9 either is pretty good. Guy dow the road from me has a LQ4 in his 03 silverado with a SC and other mods and runs 12.59. Not bad in my book at all since 12's are my goal. Just need more mods i guess lol.
