I'm also interested in what bottom ends are available for us. The one I really only hear about is callies.

I went with K1 Technologies. They are a devision of Weisco. Fully forged cranks and connecting rods. Some others that come to mind are Eagle and Lunati. Check Texas Speed and Performance --------------->>>>>>>>>, they have a large selection of rotating assemblies.

Ill check them out thanks! And about what kinda hp would I be looking at with some 706 heads milled 40 an 5 angle valve job with ported bowls? And good cam with a 90mm intake/32lb injectors?

I wouldn't even waste your time with those heads with the small valves and small ports.. Just my opinion.. Look into some l92 heads.

Ahh dang got like 550 in just work on the heads so that's wasted then

They'd work great if you were just rebuilding a 6.0. But when you talk about stroking the engine up to 402 CI... the thing needs air.

Sell the heads and re coupe some money.

As mentioned a stroker needs to breath.

If you really want the most out of a 402 or 408 you really need an aftermarket head casting and good intake manifold.

You could get buy with 243 or 317 that have been reworked with a stage 2 or 3 port job but your not going to get the most out of the package on the Top end.

Stock heads were designed for a stock displacement and work really well when you build around that.

You can make 500-600 HP real easy on a stock crank. We have guys pushing upwards of 1000 HP on a stock crank.

Before you drop 2 grand or more on a Stroker and realize you need more expensive parts to make it work right I would sit down and figure out exactly what you want. Maybe talk with guys on here that have 408's and see what they did and how the feel about there set up.

Ask questions like;

How do you like it???
What would you do Different???
Was it worth the cost???
Did you make any mistakes???
How much more do you think you spent then you initially though it would cost you???
Did you build it or did some one else build it for you???

It doesn't seem very expensive at first but it can Snow Ball really fast. Asking these types of questions can give you a better Idea of what your getting yourself into.

Thanks guys good info an I guess I will sell them soon if I don't put them on my modded 5.3 rebuilt an bored. 20 over etc. And i see 6 grand in the hole for the build! but I've already got my intake 1 small step Towards the 408 build and would these heads be better? http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1179-pr...ted-heads.aspx
