You will love the 6L... i dont know much about the cam aspect, but i figure a 208ish cam should do you just right..

We put a 2004 LQ4 with a LS6 cam/springs in my buddys 07 classic ECSB 3.73s. it pulls hard.
But for what your lookin for to tow, a low end cam would be alot better..

Welcome to PT.net
The 6.0L swap is a well documented upgrade and for towing a great choice. There are 2 5.3L engines available in the 2005 ECSB, which do you have?
As far as cams go, it's a personal choice but for towing you want something with less duration than most might recommend for the track.
Upgrading those gears to 4.10's will help immensely as well!

Is there any good mods to do to the L33 5.3 before I move to the 6.0?

i'd do all of the bolt-on mods to the 5.3L, so that when you put in the 6.0L you can swap the parts right over. bolt-ons would include cold air intake, long tube headers, etc.
