There's some grounds on top back of the motor, drivers side battery, make sure that those are all connected.

Does the voltage drop when you turn the key to start?

you still havent told us if there is power on the purple wire while you crank it. that would be very helpful.

Low engine oil light is probably due to the fact that the plug on the oil pan isnt plugged in. Check that but that wouldnt cause it not to start.

Start by checking ignition fuses as far as the truck not starting is concerned

that's the weird thing though... the plug on the pan is plugged in! i did unscrew the piece that the plug on the pan goes into... do yo think i didn't tighten it down good enough?

You can start/run your engine with the plug out that you're talking about. It's the low level oil gauge.

Now if your water temp plug is out, it kills a running engine instantly. That's the one on the side of the block, driver's side.

THERE IS NO POWER TO THE PURPLE WIRE WHILE CRANKING... so what does that mean? And what does that leave me to check? I do have power to the larger wire and i've checked all my fuses. The neutral safety switch is plugged in but that's what it reminds me of when i start it, It makes no attempt to start at all. Nor does it draw power down on my volt meter while trying to start.

check the starter fuse (it's a big maxi fuse, 30 amp I think), that's where the purple wire starts at. see if it's good, if it is see if it gets power while cranking

next thing to check would be your relay to see if it clicks while you try to crank.
