One thing i must say is if you decide to buy a bare block make sure that none of the mains have spun on the block!! Also check for pitting in the cylindar walls

I believe the LQ4 which is in the silverado ss's and escalades is the highest hp 6.0. I am assuming the blocks are the same on all of them. The heads and cam might be slightly different, not for certian though. Good luck, what kind of numbers are you looking to get, and will it be N/A or forced induction?

SS's and Escalades have the LQ9.

There is so much info by doing a search that it gets overwhelming. Which block is better the LQ4 or LQ9? I dont know if im gonna do NOS, Turbo, or supercharger. This is my daily driver for now until I finish school, so I need something that will be reliable and streetable. I have been considering doing a custom turbo kit, or maybe a NOS motor. Im kinda looking around for what seems to work best, and what other people have had good success with.

Hey do me a favor dont say NOS, say o2 or N2o or nitrous unless you decide to get Nitrous Oxide Systems kit. Sorry im just messin with you... ok enough of the games. The LQ4 and 9 differ only in slight piston dish, heads and i beleive cam but im not sure on the cam part!! The CR is higher in the LQ9 and the heads flow a little more, If you plan on doing this build completly custom then I'd suggest going with the Lq4 and make it into whatever you want...Really i suggest getting a bare 6.0 block and going from there that way you have everything inside and out of what you want it to be!!
