Default 6.0 ???

I want to get a 6.0. Hopefully punching it out to 408, or even 427. I want to start N/A, but eventually go with a Radix, Kene Bell, or Magnuson later. Can I use the LQ9 heads for n/a then swap to LQ4 heads for f/i to drop the comp ratio, or mill stock heads, then go back stock to drop the c/r? I love high comp engines, but know 11:1 isnt good for f/i. But it would be coo till it blew

Thea heads on the LQ4 and LQ9 are the same. So no gain will be had there. If you get them milled some yes you will gain from the increase in CR. Just like you stated, keep it low for boost and high for natural.

Soooooo what do I do for N/A that is going to be F/I? Build it twice? If so I guess it'll stay n/a.

no not at all, if you get a LQ 9 block, swap out the pistons for the LQ 4 dished, it will drop the comp down in to the 9's.

Wouldn't it be easier to use milled heads till I could aford the s/c, then go back to stock heads? Or would this reduce the c.r. enough?

Thats fine. Just get an LQ4 man. Snag a set of 317 heads to have till you get your SC. Maybe save some cash to get the heads ported and polished. Then swap them over when you have your SC.

Matt, that's what I'm going through right now. You have to decide whether you're gonna go n/a or FI before you start because your going to run into problems. I thought of running my lq9 n/a with heads and cam until I'm ready for the SC, but 9/10 I'm going to lose the #7 piston then I'll have to start over. Other option is to put forged pistons in first and go from there...... but, should you go high compression or low compression??????? That depends on future plans. If you definately want the SC, you should definately put forged pistons before you start.

Hows yours coming? I guess I'll stay N/A. Or maybe not. I have a little while to decide. Todd, you runnin a 6.0, or a stroker? I cant decide if I want to go 408, or 427.

I'm most probably staying with the 364 for gas mileage. 408 would really drink. I also spoke to Chris at Thunder (just being curious) and quoted me about $5,000 for the stroker kit. I have mine stripped down to the short block right now. I'm still up in the air whether I want to deal with setting up the procharger and the possibilities of everything that could go wrong.
