Yes, if you get an 01+ 6.0 with the 24x reluctor wheel, you swap the longblock right in and re-use all of your original stuff (accessories, intake, wiring harness, etc.)

I know that alot of guys have reported false knock with their 99 PCM's after cam swaps, myself included. I believe that an 01+ operating system can be flashed into your PCM though, so you won't have to go out and buy a new PCM and do a few other mods to get it to work (like I did before the tuners figured out how to get around that ). Thought that this info might help since you're planning a 6.0 swap, and these mods should help you to get the most out of it.
Something to add about the PCM.. get one from a Tahoe of the same year of the block. There are plenty of salvage yard that carry them. Then you'll have one for the old block and one for the new. $40 is what I paid for mine. Though I didn't change blocks I did change tunes.

It's a large wheel pressed on to the crankshaft that the crank sensor gets its signal from. 24x is the number of "teeth" on it, as opposed to 58x for a GENIV. The crank sensor is magnetic and gets an analog wavelength from the teeth on the reluctor wheel. Your truck has a few different recluctors actually, the abs speed sensors also work off of the same principle.

Why Tahoe (just curious)? I thought that all of the SUV's were drive by wire, whereas his 99 is cable driven, would that pose a problem when tuning?

If I'm wrong... I thought the '99 thru '02 were the same when it came to the wiring. Someone edu-a-kate me.

There wasn't a problem tuning. The Tahoe is a heavier vehicle therefore needing a little more on the ECM. The response on the Tahoe ECM will react a little better on a smaller truck (being the Silverado).
