Any other numbers on the heads?

Look on the block, there should be a some numbers on it to tell you what size it is. If it has 4.8/5.3 then it's one of those. If it has 6.0 than that's what it is.

I don't think I've ever heard of a 554 casting.

There are no other numbers on the heads at all?

Are you sure it a Gen III?, I have never seen that casting #
here are the ones I know
LM4, LM7, LR4, L59(4.8 and 5.3) (these have 5 bumps on the side)
99-01 casting #862 (alum)
01-04 casting #706 (alum) (this was the L59 5.3)
& casting #862 (alum)
LQ4(6.0)
99-00 Casting #873 (iron) ( no bumps)
01-04 Casting #317 (alum) (this has 4 bumps on the side, this casting was also
used on the 6.0 natural gas, you can tell it from the
common 6.0 becasue bump #3 is machined off)
LQ9(6.0 h.o.)
02-04 Casting #317 (alum) ( 4 bumps )

there is also supposed to be a 035 casting used on some 01-04 6.0 but have never seen it, jsut read that there is one

Do you know what year this engine is? Could it be some of the new L33 heads?
