Default 5.7 tbi performance???

Hey guys I have a 1993 Chevy 1500 two wheel drive 5.7 v8 throttle body injection with a 4-speed and Overdrive manual transmission. Trying to get some answers out there about making a TBI performance motor out of the stock block. Was thinking I would redo the whole entire exhaust heads cam intake throttle body throttle body spacer manifold and calling it good does anybody have any suggestions with this. Only asking because I don't see anybody do throttle body stuff

The exhaust system is a good start. The factory heads are a huge bottle neck, Vortec heads are a nice upgrade. The tbi unit and injectors will be the neck issue. The popular swap used to be a tbi unit and injectors from a 454 truck. The factory ecm can only tolerate so much camshaft. Prepare to learn how to tune, or take your chances with a mail order chip.

Edelbrock used to make a really nice bolt on mpfi intake manifold and injection system. No longer produced, hard to find used.

IMO,

after the cost of all this, it's probably easier and cheaper to swap a 6.0 LS motor into it.

QFT. I could never go back. I keep the old school engines in my cars for nostalgia.
