5.7 to 6.0 swap
#1
hey guys i have a 94 chevy c1500 and i had a 5.7L 350 V8 with a crane cam i installed in it. well it spun a rod bearing so i was thinking about putting a 383 tbi stroker engine with 370hp/430tq and i was going to add a Comp Cam .479/.480 114LSA, Holley ProJection intake, 454ss throttle body, and some Hooker LongTubes. some people on here told me i was wasting my time with the tbi engine and that i should just go with a 6.0 because the tbi only ran with 2 injectors and the new ones used 8 so i needed to go with the genIII engine because the tbi engine couldnt hang with it. so i was just going to ask if any of you experienced guys could tell me if the 383 tbi i explained plus all the mods i would be doing to it could hang with a genIII 6.0 so please let me know guys thanks. by the way, this is helping me make up my decision on what to get, but i will have to get an adapter for the 6.0 to match up to my tranny. but i wont with the tbi engine. so please reply wisely guys. so i just wanna know which would put out more power and what would go into the swap if i went with the 6.0

I raced a a guy in an early 90's Single cab Silverado that had a 383 swap and 4.10 gears from a 20 punch until about 75. We were dead even through first gear and then I put 1 truck on him in second and was still pulling when we let off. That was with the old 5.3 with a 208/216-113 Crane cam. So yeah, you would get pulled easy by a 6.0...
