Default 5.3 vs 6.0

Ok iv got all the bolts ons I think I can do to my truck right now but just have been fighting traction. Have caltracs coming so that's gonna help me launch better . Last weekend I ran a couple times at the track and on motor it ran 14.49 with a 2.09 60 ft I believe. On 100 shot it dropped to 13.69. I have to spray once I have solid traction. So my question is once I get good traction what should I be looking for with the 5.3 and what would a stock lq4 swap do for those times. I'm really debating on if it'll be worth my time. Thanx

You need to cam that thing.. It will make 1 hell of a difference.. There is no reason why you should go high 12's with a cam'd 5.3 on a 100 shot..

Yea iv also been thinking about that but I just wanna know what 6.0 would do with that same setup. I would most likely cam the 6.0 too. But I won't predictions of what a stock one would do.

the larger cubed 6.0 would be your best bet. you got alot of miles on that 5.3 and i think it would be better just to swap in a cammed 6.0 and really let er rip. the 6.0 would provide more low end torque and you can still cam and spray it on the top end and have a monster truck for cheap. used 6Ls are all over the place, check the junkyards and pick one up.

I'm sure the 6.0 would prolly drop .3-.5 if you drop it in stock but I would throw a mid 220s cam in with the converter you got and have a lot faster truck
