The M5 behind the 4.8 is definitely the NV3500. I don't see why you couldn't bolt an LS1-style T-56 behind a 4.8/5.3. Should work just fine.

If you wanna go the T-56 route though, I'd get a 4.8/5spd truck to start with, and get an LS1/T-56 combo from a junkyard.

That is some very imformative stuff there. I could take 4.8L pistons and put them in a 5.3 to raise compression SAFELY. Since there the same heads the P/V clearance should be the same. No worrys about milling to much.

I don't know if that would work since the 4.8 rods are longer. If you're going to go through all of that trouble, I would just get a set of forged pistons.

I'm not sure on the 6.0L head #'s.

Yea, everyone knows the 4.8 is worse than getting a 4.3.

The 5.3 kicks ***.
