Hey Cole, thanks for the info, but yours truly has the Haynes Bible for these JIC (just in case) situations.

Billy I took your advice and made my attempt to cleaning the IAC Valve, and what a PITA.

Not an easy place to get to.. not to mention that I dropped one of the screws twice for the IAC. Luckily, Eric's Dad had one of those crazy telescopic magnets.

(Sorry for the blurry pic)

Per the Haynes Bible I cleaned the IAC Valve with Carburator Cleaner, and I think it's helped, but I've come to realize that buying a new one would be the next best choice. From what I've been told the "black top" should have a little spring resistance to it, and it's lacking it. Hey, I tried and the new part s/b here in a week.

Ok, I'm waiting for the part to get here, b/c the one that I cleaned is shot. Yesterday late afternoon I had to try 3 times to get the truck to turn over.

So lets say I still have this problem after I install the new valve? The PVC is only a year old. It's like I'm going through this check list....making me crazy.

My more than common occurrence is when I get the truck started, the idle then suddenly drops. Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn't. Even in reverse this happens.
