i have 2000 5.3 that is out of my truck and it is just sitting there. i wanna pull it apart and build a 5.7 iron block. but i wanna do it cheap. what do i need. i would use all the truck intake. may be ls6 cam some chep stuff you know. any insight would be great also how much should the michine work be.

 

budget huh......go to the parts house, get a cylinder hone and an engine rebuild kit and crank, find a used cam. There ya go $1000 budget build lol.
