Default from 5.3 to 6.0

well i couldnt decide what i wanted: first i wanted to swap to 6.0 but then changed my mind and wanted to go turbo on my 5.3

BUT i couldnt pass on on this deal: 6.0 2005 (same year as my truck) with 317´s (lq9 if i am right) bought it from a good friend that bought the truck on a auction, drove it home and took it apart for parts

Plans are swap my cam 224, 224 112, pushrods and springs from the 5.3 to the 6.0

retune

injectors (not sure yet???) give me your opinion, i´ll add a 150 shot for now (nitrous kit is sold but still on the truck for a couple more months, why not have a lil fun with it) and go turbo in a year or so

Depending on what it came out of the 6.0 will be either a LQ9 or LQ4 . Both have the 317 heads and iron block but the lq9 has the flat top pistons and more compression. So if u can track what vehicle it came from to see what it is because a cam will react differently to different compression and it will help u decide on other power adders down the line.
And best of luck with ur build

Get a decently bright flashlight and look in the spark plug holes. Turn the motor over till u can see enough of the piston to see if its flat. Did this when my brother was buying a lq9 and found out it had dished pistons. Got a heck of a deal on the lq4.

Couldnt you do a compression test to see which motor it is? But if you were told it was out of a 2500 then its an LQ4.
