Unless he got a 2005 model with the VHO option then he is lying. One way to tell is to look on the cylinder heads for the casting number. 3 digits on the left hand side ( best to look on the driver's side of the engine ). #317 is 6.0L, #862 is 4.8/5.3L.
BTW the VHO option was only offered in a few western US states. The only other way to get the 6.0L in a 1500 is if it is the HD model, count the lug nuts, 8 = HD.

the 6.0L did not come from the factory in a 1/2 ton truck, other than in the SS, and the new VHO. It should be a 5.3L, because its a Z71.

Was that new or used truck?? You said in your country? What country are you in? They might have different options in other countrys.

Like everyone else said only the SS and VHO come with the 6.0L. Unless it was used and they did a swap. Ive seen people trade in trucks and cars with all the mods and all the investment they done to them.

I believe this fellow is in the middle east. I suppose it's possible that something that is not offered here could be offered there. I doubt it's a 6.0 though.

Also. Take a look at the heads. On a corner of one of the heads look to see if it says 316 or even 035. If it doesnt, tis not a 6.0!
