Depending on who does it, I would say around $150

I just had a local shop quote approximately $100 for it. Does that sound reasonable to you? It sure does to me!

I just have a feeling that they would flash a stock 5.3 calibration with the 4L60e in the tune and you'd still be up a tree.

Seems that more performance based shop would understand the swap that is done and what is needed to be done with the computer.

As long as they are using tuning software and not GM software for flashing. 100 is good.

A relearn takes 5-10 minutes with a scan tool, so if they want to charge more than $60 there taking you for a ride.

Awesome feedback guys. I will emphasize the importance of flashing the computer to the 5.3/4L80E setup that's on the truck and not to just flash it to the 5.3 computer. It is not a GM shop. Just a jack of all makes shop with a great reputation here in town. So my wording in the request will be to calibrate my computer to 5.3 specs and retain the current 4L80E transmission specs.

If there a standard repair shop, using OE type tools they won't be able to do that.

They will only be able to flash OEM calibrations based on a Vin number.

Well you are correct. They were looking to do a gm program to it. Not a custom one. Unfortunately, we don't have any custom programmers within an hour drive and my truck won't make it there. Any ideas on what I can do now?

You would have to remove it and send it out to a mail order shop.
