Default 4L60E shift kit, servos, etc. questions

I'm getting ready to do some trans work on my '02 silverado and I have some questions for you all.

1) What type of fluid do you all recommend? redline, rp, or mobil-1?

2) Is a B&M Cooler good, or should I use another brand?

3) Transgo or TCI, and which kit of the two?

4) I keep hearing about Billet Servos, what do you all think about them?

thanks.

Anyone know for sure about the servos? If it is worthwhile, I'd upgrade to the billets.

My 03 didn't have vette size servos.

Go with the Transgo. All I could find for fluid was synthetic or Pennzoil ATF. Synthetic fluid isn't good so I hear. I did run an additive to it called DuraLube. It comes in a red bottle. It was HIGHLY recommended by the builder.

Does that Duralube (sounds so nasty!) come in like a 10oz bottle? If so, I've seen that before and wondered about it...

I recommend CHEAPASS DexIII/Mercon. I change mine every 10k mi. It's so inexpensive not to change it often. Syn fluids cause these to slip for some odd reason and they are like what $5/qt? Um no, I'll just keep changing mine often. This is common practice for my vehicles and when I do maintainence for my Pops, Moms, etc. and everything is working well.

B&M Cooler has proven to be superior to a tube + fin, go for it. It's cheap insurance you can't beat.

TransGo hands down has the better kit. I use nothing other than in any of my rides where applicable.

Billet servos can be harsh on a stock/low stall converter. The intermediate offers MUCH greater holding capacity than the 'Vette one. There are two of these... one for the 1-2 shift and one for the 3-4 (Intermediate and OD). I'm one of the few than has both billets (Chingon does as does Mudz5.3). If you're doing them use NO washers in the 1-2 accumulator on a stock or mild stall...even with a larger stall like Chingon has, just open the feed holes to...

1-2 .120
2-3 .099
3-4 .120

And that should negate any artificial firmening (is that even a word?! ) by those washers as they only help the 1-2 upshift which the billet intermediate does...

The 'Vette servo is a decent quick upgrade (I can get them for like $8) over the stock apply piston but it isn't HUGE gains over.

Finally get an aluminum 1-2 accumulator piston. Plastic stocker cracks, loses pressure, causes slippage on shifts, and then helps tranny die quicker.

Yeah, go for the Transgo, billet servo's and cheap fluid. Do listen to HitmanX. No washer in the 1-2 accumulator. Read my post called (My interesting Trango/billet install. Rough day let me tell you.
