I have a 427 in my truck, forget about the stock trans. I went through 4-5 of them......

I went with a Dr. Evil 4L65E Max Evil and the new PI 10.5" three disk TC about a month ago.

Pulls strong....crisp shifts no lag at all.......

Gear: Were did you get your 427 and were there any difficulties swaping that into your truck?

The Block is from Fred Beans and Speed Inc did all the work.........

No problems swaping.....

gear, what kind of gas mileage you getting on that 427 engine, would you buy the C5r block or a MTI ls1 converted to a 427.

With my heavy *** foot my gas mileage never gets better then 10 mpg, but if its a road trip I've gotten up to 17 mpg.....

If your planning on high boost adder (My plan it N20 and Turbo or Blower) you might want to go to the C5-R block....

Lower boost or N/A the Darton block like MTI/Speed Inc./Lingenfelter and all the other guys use would be fine....

Silent1 that 65 has held up to the 422 and the 427 so I would say it holds up well
