04 Silverado 1500 rcsb. Yup...I tried to make it make 400 miles, then after I hit 400 there were no gas stations! The truck was nice enough to coast to within 1/4 mile of one though.

 

i drifted into a station the only time i ran out of gas, not fun to be stranded like that..

 

done that 2 twice....

Hey ya know you could have unscrewed the gas cap and drove with the cap off for a few more miles...

 

learned that awhile ago. Tried it but she just wouldnt fire. I figured for sure it would at least fire for 15-20 seconds enough to coast me to the station but it was a no go.

 

Ah damn that's no good! But at least you have a good fully story to tell like I usually do.

 

the story is actually funnier. It happened on the way home from dinner on a 1st time date. d'oh! Shes like "oh, the truck ran outta gas trick huh?" and in reply (take your shots when you can) I said...Yup, sure is. I then got my kiss on. lol. Then we walked to the gas station together. How romantic huh?

Hope your pump didnt get too badly damaged, that was the #1 cause of fried pumps when these trucks 1st came out.
