Default 4.8 upgrades

have an nnbs sierra 4.8 i want to do some upgrades to i dont know where to start as of now i only have a cold air intake. whats the best things to do to it? thanks

Posi rear end with 4.11 gears or 3.73 if you do a lot of highway driving. Longtube headers from Texas-Speed work well. Depending how much you want to spend consider camming it. Then a stall and tune.

Full exhaust upgrade with 3.73 gears or 4.10s with a stall converter upgrade and of course a tune.

I currently have 3.73 gear which came from the factory on my truck, and I am a firm believer that they are the reason why I like the feel of my 4.8 a lot of people are surprised to hear it pulls nicely but its all in the gearing. I do A TON of highway driving too as go to school 2.5 hours away from home and I travel home every 10 days or so. The highway manners of 3.73's are excellent even on 285/75/16 tires.

I need to do a gear swap in my truck. Mine is a factory 3.23 geared, stock stall W/T, and is absolutely atrocious! I could probably sprint through an intersection faster than my truck at WOT lol. I'm thinking 3.90 or 4.10's would be a good swap.

3.90's would be a good compromise between 3.73 and 4.10 if you do a lot of highway driving. A lot of guys say that re greasing from 3.08/3.23/3.42 to a 3.73 is just not worth it for the cost involved

My truck never sees the highway, so I've even considered 4.56 gears but that may be a bit much for normal DD use.
