4.8 silverado swap for 6.0

4.8 silverado swap for 6.0
I have2000 silverado 1500 4.8 daily driver, looking to be made quicker, I am considering dropping a 6.0l in, but do not know how much trouble & $$$$ that would be, couldnt and wouldnt do it myself b/c I would surely screw something up, anyone have an opinion on an engine swap or upgrading the 4.8? thnx

6.0 swap is awesome. It make a huge difference in my 5.3 it would be larger from the 4.8. Everything bolted right up with zero problems. A good shop should be able to do it in less than 2 days, and mabye 1. Definetly worth the $$$.

That will ne an awsome upgrade from your 4.8L. You can tell a huge difference in power between them. The 5.3L is also a great difference from the 4.8L. Definetly worth the money if you are willing to spend a couple of $1000's

www.car-part.com look for a 6.0 there VERY GOOD prices, and you cant get the 6.0 in a 1500 so your betta off doin the swap and Im actually doin the swap also within the next year, Im goin to build the motor in my garage and then drop it in so I can have easy access to the whole motor. You dont have to redo the rearend it depends on how bad it is now and how hard to push it, but beware if you dont do it now you will sooner or later.

The 6.0l swap is awesome. 
Way more grunt throughout the entire rev range. It really works well with a small cam upgrade and some minor head work.
Caution: the 6.0l is more abusive on the trans, rear ends and most of all, rear tires
I had a little under $2000 in the swap including the cam and springs. Suprisingly not too bad in the mileage department. I get around 15.5mpg on the highway with 4.10 gears.
