I'd say you might be able to get there with headers, a tune and a can, but I'm not sure the ignition would do that much for ya.

Save your money on the Granatelli MAF. I've never head anyone with anything positive to say about them. I'd bet 95% of the people on this site are using the stock MAF or tuning without a MAF altogether. Custom tune, headers and a good cam will get you real close. Make up the rest with laughing gas

I understand it is a magazine but in Sept 05s Chevy High Perfromance they did a whole write up on Gran stuf and the first mod they did was the wires. They produced 15 hp and 17 tq at the wheels just by changing the wires. then changing to the GRAN MAF got another 11 hp and 21 tq to the wheels.
They finished it off with the GRAN cold air kit, but i already have the FIPK II so i should be good there.

any ideas?

I wouldn't beleive everything in the books. They might have gained some power from wires but not what they are claiming. If that was the case everyone would do wires, Thats more power then a set of long tubes would give ya, I agree with what the others said about the mass. Save your money for a better mod. Just my .02

So what would be a good set of cheaper mods to get my 300 rwhp goal?
i have about $1500 to use and i would like to get as much HP and TQ as i can out of it without doing much more then a cam for internals.

LT's, cut the cats, get a tune, efans, UD pulleys, port and polish the TB, not much HP from it but they say the throttle response is much better, MSD wires, NGK spark plugs, that should get ya a little more power

it's going to be hard to get 300hp to the wheels with out breaking into the motor..
and it's going to take time and money..
