4.8 Cam upgrade.
#2
I have. Comp 212/218 .522/.529 114. I went with Comp 918s and Thunder Racing pushrods. I gained 30hp and 10lb-ft.
The cam really moved the power band up...the truck pulls like a raped ape up top, but the already-weak torque of the 4.8L was made even worse with the cam.
A 4.8 has to have a converter and some gear to really take advantage of a cam swap.

a good cam with mild duration numbers and say a .555" lift with a 114 will work pretty good for ya, and run ok on stock tune. the cam scream has isn't a very good lowend torque cam, i know another guy with it in a 5.3 and he hates his low end torque. my cam however, 216/218 .535/.535 112 has pretty sweet low end and the top is great. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.

freak i have a 4.8 with a comp cam 224/224 514/521 and a 3000 stall convertor. I love the setup. i have power from idea to 6000 rpms. the radix and heads help that too, but when i did the cam i noticed a big difference.
