Default 4.8 to 6.0 swap

Hi I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado single cab with a 4.8. I want to drop a 6.0 in it. Do I have to get the computer for the 6.0 or will mine work with a custom tune. Also I have heard that if I port and polished my 4.8 heads and put them on the 6.0 it will give me some crazy power. Just what I have heard. If thats true does anybody know what some horsepower specs would be if I did that. Would I need a new tranny and what would be the best rear end gears for that set up? Thanks for any advice.

What about using 4.8 heads instead of the 6.0 heads? Couldn't find anything on that.
