Default 4.8 to 6.0

New member here.
I know it's been discussed, I've searched but could find info I was looking for.
I have a 2000 silverado 2wd auto 4.8 that I use daily to tow and want to swap in a 6.0
What year 6.0 would be best?
If I get the computer from 6.0 can I use it in my truck instead of reprogramming mine?
If I get the trans too would it hook up with no problems?
Thanks

Remove 4.8, install 6.0, get a PCM tuner to reprogram your 4.8 PCM.
Enjoy!
