I have a 2000 4.3 RCSB that will be receiving a new heart, a 4.8 vortec out of a 2006 silverado with harness. My question is... can i drop it in and start it up just like that?
What do i need to change? Thanks guys

 

for starters you'll need 99-02 v8 mounts, a 99-02 v8 harness, neither will the intake, well throttle body anyway, you'll need a drive by cable the 06 has a drive by wire.

Then you better take EVERYTHING. Basically 99-02 and 03-07 are two generations of trucks. It's like LT1/LS1 F-Body (although not as drastic, just using that to demonstrate major differences in one generation).

Get a 99-02 harness, intake and TB and it will be a plug in swap.
