Default 4.10 or not to 4.10

I was thinking of putting the Eaton in as my next mod for the rear diff, along with a T/A girdle. My question is if anyone that has the 4.10s in their truck if I should do this or not, mine has 3.73s.

It must be taken into considerations that I plan on having this truck finished within a year with a supercharger, custom built tranmsission also. Now my concern is weather I will have huge traction problems using 4.10s with a Radix maganacharger, or will a set of Cal-trac traction bars be able to put me in check. This would just be so much more drivable with a 4.10 at this point, and I am not too worried about gas mileage either, but I don't want to be spinning all down the block with anything more than half throttle.

Help would be appreciated, just don't want to spend money twice if I don't have to. Thanks

I would keep the 3.73's unless you want to make it solely for a 1/4 mile monster.

Do it. A lot of guys are running 410 with out complaints. After I drop the new motor and stal on mine, I may jump to 410s also. I just gotta see where it will run with the new engine first.

Buy some Drag Radials for the track 255/50/16 run them on your stock wheels. The 26" tires will give you all the gearing you need with your 3.73s.

Thanks guys, Chingon, I am axiously waiting for your review. I do race the truck to get some times at the track, but I like to run the truck right off of the street, to get an idea how she does on the streets in full trim. I have done all my runs with the tailgate and sparetire, and half a tank of gas, and with the rims my best time here in vegas was 15.885 at 87.3mph, 2000ft elevation, and 114degree temperature.

I was wondering how much gas mileage would I loose, and is there going to be a traction problem running like a 2600 stall and Supercharger? The truck likes to peel out pretty nice as is.

Me too I have the stock 3.73s and I know there will be a SOTP difference.

I've heard that gas mileage loss is close to nothing, if any at all.
Traction will be a problem, definetly. If you have a S/C, forget it. Will make for a good burnout show.
Ask blownchevy, he's got a new Radix.
Torque converter will be hell on your tranny.
I'm going to get the 4.10s and eaton posi put in either this week or next, so if you can wait, I'll give you a review....and some videos

You will not lose a lot of gas milage with 4.10 go with the Yank 3000 the performance gain feels like you've added 50hp and the drivability is great.

Plane and simple .. yup! Even with 31+ inch BFG AT's, I can't keep them glued to the ground. I would go with 4.10's if I could though. I would also go with a Yank 3000 stall if I were stall shopping again.
