the 243's flow much better and have a smaller combustion chamber for added compression. The 243's are the heads from an LS6 while the 241 is the head off an LS1.

It would work ok but you would prob turn a better time at the track with something in the lower 220's like you have. A 220 cam is hard to beat in the 5.3L. Id want at least 4200 rpm flash with the 228 cam. On n20 the instant tq would prob fix it. Something like a Custom Isky 221/227/112 would work a little better with that combo IMO. The short split will help with the n20 and not kill the NA tq like a dedicated n20 cam.

if i remember right, you gotta mill about .030 off a 241 to maintain stock compression swapping 862s

I had a 224/230 in my 5.3 with 3.73 gears and a 3k stall. It needed a 3600+ stall but once it was in the power band it pulled to 6500rpm like a beast. Keep your 862 get them ported. Get some 4.10 rear gears or deeper.
