That's what I run on my DD and I'm very happy with it...it all depends on the person really. There are guys on this site running around with 3800+ and lovin it, while others feel that 2600 is too much. I know that I could live with an extra 200-300 rpm and still be OK with it since I do have a back up beater with a V6 to drive also, but if this truck was all that I had, I feel that 3k is perfect for me

3k will be fine with a 220, but you'll probably need a higher stall like 3600 if you go 224.
Some people swear by the 212/218 cams though. Do you want a lopey sound or not? If so, look for the 112 LSA. There's lots of vids on youtube of idle sounds.

212/218 is very good cam. the 220/220 with a 3000 or even a 3200 would do very well. i think the 224 will be a big turd till 45-50 without a looser converter or a lot of gear. just my .02
