Why am I not surprised? I remember when the 02's came out, it was on several boards that they would just haul ***. When I bought my then stock 02 and raced my friend stock 03 same config, we were pretty much even untill past 70. He would pull on me maybe .5-1 truck length on high end. So it looks like the 04's are the quickest now.

Yep, they are nice and moooove along well. Played smoke the Hemi with mine the other afternoon. My wife bought it and had it delivered to the house on a flatbed with a big red bow Christmas Eve. Funny thing is first thing we did once it got here was hopped on-line searching to make it go faster. The Kenne Bell twin screws sure look nice, wonder if I can talk her into it.

I think I got an 04 engine in mine, cause I know it runs better than my 02 did, granted it was carrying a lot more weight, it felt like it would flat out haul ***.

If it's like mine .. it will respond VERY well to a good set of headers.

another reason he might be keepin up is your tires/rims... im not sure what your runnin, but they might be a bit heavier than stock.

I have an 04 GMC 5.3 and love it. It keeps up with my wifes 6-spd 3.5L Maxima, which I must say my old 260hp crapstang GT couldn't do...we ran each other after my Tae Kwon Do class, and I got her pretty good.
