Anyone know if theres any aftermaket stuff for the 8.1 liters in trucks. Im buying a 03 work truck cheap and wanna know whats out there. Plans for this motor is actualy to put it in an F body. More of a look at my big motor thing but the truck is only $1500, thought it would be cool just to do it, Maybe convert me to a Chevy guy for once. just wanna know if theres cams, t bodys etc.

Theres an entire pacakge of 8.1 stuff sold by www.tbyrne.com Its made by raylar and makes 525hp with intake, heads, cam. There are lots of aftermarket possibilites for this engine as there are many boat manufacturers using them with there mercruiser outdrives. You may want to look into the marine sector to find more power if 525hp isn't enough.

 

I believe Magna Charger makes a unit for the 8.1..

 

I wish they did. Whipple does though, I've been eyeballing they're 496ho kit I think it replaces the hole intake.

 

damnit, now I won't be able to sleep again. I was just getting over the idea of a intercooled blown 496 too....(the intercooled truck version looks crappy and I don't like how much room it takes up)
