Wonder how difficult plug changes are with 2" primaries?
When I went from 1-3/4 to 1-7/8" I could tell right off the task was a bit more time consuming.

I have Kooks 2" into 1-7/8" stepped headers for a 4th gen f-body on the 2000. The fit is ok but not great. The driver side points way out towards the frame making exhaust routing more difficult and one of the tubes on the pass side is very close to the frame. Both collectors point right at the trans cross member so a quick jog up right after the collector is needed to get the exhaust over. These are also race headers with slip on 3.5" collectors which I feel is a little over kill. I think I would be more happy with a set of 1-7/8 made for a truck with 3" collectors which I may do when I change the exhaust up again.

Plug changes are not any more difficult than the 1-3/4 pacesetters I had previously.

Thanks for that info. I was asking because I had a conversation with Allen Nelson and he said he was adding 2" headers when he tunes all the new 6.2 NA motors and he sees good gains even for them only being NA.

I am skeptical and wonder what he considers "good gains" and what setup these "NA" motors are? I would presume they are aftermarket short runner intakes with big head/cam packages that spin to 7K+. I have seen 1-3/4 to 1-7/8 comparisons on various LS platforms and the gains aren't all that significant IMO and are at the top end of the rpm range while loosing low rpm torque. I am sure there are some solid comparisons out there from Stock manifolds all the way to a 2-1/4 longtube on different setups.

I got these Kooks headers years ago as an opportunistic gift back before 1-7/8 were readily available for the truck platform. I spoke to Tom from ARH at PRI and he said a 2 to 1-7/8 would be good for my setup if I turned up the boost but that they had no intentions of making that size in a truck fitment. That's when I decided I would try the f-body headers and my brother came across a set a the shop he was working at. I recall feeling a better mid-top end pull going from pacesetters to the Kooks but would have to look back at my notes for any empirical gains with track times/mph.

Call Kooks, they might be able to make them.
