160 stat install?

Get everything out of the way of it and a 10mm socket and and a decent size pair of chanel locks to take the hose off it. Very simple once you get to it but i changed mine when i put the efans on it so theres alot more room.

I don't know exactly what needs to be changed in the tune, but I'm sure that adjustments should be made to optimize power and efficiency after the 160* t-stat install. Hopefully somebody who knows exactly will chime in, as I'm very curious as to what adjustments are necessary.

I've yet to even see any reason to do a 160 swap on these. The only adjustments I seen by doing some quick browsing is the Idle Learn minimum temp is like 174. But operating temperature is still going to be between 190-200 from everything I've read

I wonder if it makes much difference for the Idle Learn to be lowered then?
Not to say there aren't more things to change. There are several sectors that read the ECT but most are max temeratures or well below operating.

just figured it wouldn't hurt...24 bucks for a slightly cooler running motor sounded like a good deal to me.

I have read from many people on here that you will drop about 1 mpg with it. I was considering the same thing. Don't know if this is with people who did not tune for the t-stat though. Someone please correct me if I am mistaken though.
