160 or 180 stat

well what do you all run 160 or 180 and with a 160 what temp does it get hot at and 180 what temp does she get hot at my truck just dont run that stong afther 210

Hypertech recommends the 180* for the 5.3L. saying the 160* would lead to earlier deposits in the heads. Although they recommend the 160* for smaller engines. I have the 180* and it runs at the same temp as my stock 210* (195*which makes no sense at all) so if you really want a gain go with the 160* which I think will run around 175-180* . According to my instructions Hypertech recommends the 180*.
I have also heard that you can use distilled instead of tap water to cut these deposits down? Makes sense to me. If it doesn't clog the iron it wont clog your heads. That is my understanding of it, but I'm no genius. Someone help!
