So far I've had the stock t-stat (195*), a 180* stat, and now a 160* stat. With the factory clutch fan, the 180* stat ran a few degrees cooler than the factory stat, but was not as consistent as the factory stat and would still get up to over 200* under certain conditions...not worth it IMO. The 160* stat is good for F/I and Nitrous applications, or if you have e-fans and set them to work with the 160* stat, which may allow you to run a few more degrees of timing before detonation occurs. My fans are set to come on at 180* and turn off at 173* with my 160* stat, and my truck runs consistently at around 175-178*. (I monitored my temps with an AutoXray scan tool for those who are wondering...the factory guage is not accurate, although is good enough to tell the driver if their engine is about to experience a catostrophic meltdown lol)
