140,000 mile LS1 engine leak down results

a little history behind the motor. previous owner ran this motor with a 237/242, .603"/.609", 113 LSA and a 15o shot of nitrous in his 99 camaro.

since ive had it, its had a 226 cam with patriot stage 2 heads and a 231/239 .617/.623 111+2 lsa cam with a 150 shot. this motor has had atleast 200lbs of nitrous blown through it.

and for the leak down results...

cylinder 2 7% cylinder 1 7%
cylinder 4 5% cylinder 3 8%
cylinder 6 7% cylinder 5 6%
cylinder 8 7% cylinder 7 9%

i am happy to say the least. i did find one issue though. i guess this is what i get for running about 10 bottles of nitrous through on the same set of plugs plugs lol.

I'd run em again.

so what are you going to do now...??

Mangled03gmc 03-02-2010 10:50 PM

LMAO that is the new big gap plugs from ngk.. Well to say the least, that is not bad for results... New plugs, let it eat again :D

SLOXCAB 03-02-2010 10:51 PM

Probably buy a case of plugs and turn up the shot

TXsilverado 03-02-2010 10:55 PM

compression test i guess. its still blowing the dipstick tube out every time i take it out and abuse it.

That motor is in great shape for so much nitrous. Is this on stock pistons and rings?

LsxCody 03-02-2010 11:02 PM

plugs look alil worn lol

have you ditched the PVC system yet? blowing the dip stick tube out sounds like to much crank case pressure... I would just put filters on the vavle covers
