about how much does a 408 run in price? and can u use alot of the stock components on that as a 5.3 or do u need all new equipment

 

I think I heard around 6K for a 408. You'll need a 6.0 long block to start with, but you can use your accessory stuff. If it were me, Id slap in a 6.0, a nice size cam, a new tranny, and then a power adder. That will be VERY FAST IMO.

With everything youve mentioned about possibly doing go ahead and double that budget, especially if you're not going to be doing the work yourself
