Default 1 bolt or 3 bolt cam in 2008 aluminum 5.3L engine?

I have an aluminum 5.3 out of a 2008 Avalanche. It has DoD/AFM and does NOT have VVT. That's all I know about it.

What kind of cam and cam gear does it have? 1-bolt or 3-bolt cam gear?

are you planning to do a cam swap?
call the dealer with your vin and ask about the cam gear, they'll have a picture
personally I switched to a 3 bolt cam/gear when I did mine

Sort of. I just want to know if I need to order the ARP bolt kit or not. If this engine has the 3-bolt cam then I'm good. I'll just reuse those 3 bolts.

All 07+ or Gen 4 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 use a single bolt cam. At least the ones ive opened up lol.

the easiest thing would be call the dealer, cause I haven't seen any info on whether or not there's an RPO code, or an engine casting that will tell you. mine is an LMG, that had 1 bolt DOD and vvt! which was random. so its luck of the draw

Thanks for the replies guys. Sounds like I'll have to open it up in a few weeks when it's in front of me. Every time I call the dealer for something like this they want the VIN, and I don't have it.
