Question 07 LY5 Exhaust Manifold Modifications & General Inquiry.

Hey all, new posting here. I just got a new project truck first, LS (LY5). It's a 07 Sierra 1500 Extended Cab, M30 Transmission, LY5 Engine. I wondered about everyone's experience or suggestions on new aftermarket Manifolds or headers. I am leaning away from switching them out to new manifolds and would like headers (Give advice, please) because I plan to do a ton of work on this truck. Switching them out because I believe they are warped (a snapped bolt on either side), and if one is, I'd rather replace the left and right(Both manifolds have snapped bolts).

Wanting to do a VVT and AFM delete eventually.

Please leave advice and suggestions below.

Some further information about my skillset/knowledge base and the truck; I am 19 and do this as a hobby; I am entirely self-taught. I have been working full-time in the trades since 16, working 350+ hour months since, and needed a hobby, so in enters the truck. I also have to repair and change a few things. I have a ton of tools and have invested pretty well. I have new rear absorbers on the way, and I am going to replace the CVs, sway links, and do a rust job on the entire underbody when I have time / a good space to do it. I am open to suggestions from you all about where to look/what to change first. As well am most definitely open to parts suggestions! Also, sending any good reading material would be appreciated.

If more power with say a camshaft swap is in your future, just go straight to long tube headers. Don't even monkey with new exhaust manifolds.

Also a 2007 LY5 only has AFM, they didn't come with VVT until 2010.
