Default 05 e-fans v. LS1 fans

I was dead set on some 05 efans, but I'm being swayed by cheaper LS1 fans. With the added cost of the actual fans plus a 34" radiator, are 05 fans really any better than LS1 fans which will work with the smaller radiator and cost much less?

Obviously the bolt right with no fabrication and factory look are a plus, but what about function?

Someone convince me that 05 fans are the way to go.

For me, I wanted the bigger radiator anyway for the added cooling capacity. I thought about getting just the ls1 fans and saving the cash on the rad for some lt's or something, but I knew that I'd eventually wish that I had gotten the bigger rad. G&R Auto Parts has the 05 e-fans for $224 shipped (to NJ), and the rad from the Radiator Barn was $237 shipped. The harness and PCM upgrade is the same cost either way, so for me the only extra cost is the price of the radiator, coolant (which I could actually re-use if I wanted to since I just changed it last spring), and a new 160 T-stat (plus what-ever more the 05 fans are gonna cost you as opposed to some ls1 fans)

I was actually considering upgrading to a 34" rad before I even decided to do the fans, so this basically sealed the deal for me.

How come nobody talks about the flex-a-lite fans anymore. Are the 05's and the ls-1 fans better. How much is everyone getting the ls1 fans for. Nelson sells his harness for electric fans will this work for the ls1 fans too.

Sorry tdrumm didnt mean to hijack your thread man and figured this would be the best place to post.

anyone got some pics of the 05 e-fans and radiator? If it looks pretty clean installed I might just go that route...a bigger rad never hurt anyone.

Ive got the 34" radiator in my Tahoe and Im using LS1 fans. It stays plenty cool considering that the blower makes my underhood temps comparable to a furnace!

thanks for the link...do these fans actually bolt to the radiator somehow or is it more to the rad support. Because I have an older body style and Im just trying to avoid haveing to fab everything up.

I THINK that they bolt to the upper radiator support, but I'm not sure...I'll know soon enough when I do mine.
