Default '04 5.3 Suburban wanting more power

I have the 5.3 in my 04 Suburban and want more power. I have upgraded the Mass Air Sensor with a Granatelli and attached a K&N Cold Air Intake. I'm looking to do exhaust and engine mods as well. Any suggestions on exhaust brand? What about engine mods?

To start, the granatelli Mass Air Sensor is not a worthwhile upgrade. The stock one is not a restriction at all.

LT headers and a Tune would be a good start

Those aftermarket MAFs are a complete waste of money. Here is what I did with my 5.3 Tahoe: Airaid tube and drop in filter, long tube headers, ORY pipe, and tune. Made a big difference.

For engine mods, a cam kit (Cam, springs, pushrods) is probably the next thing to consider. Check out the new Tick Performance line of truck cams.

Any recommendation on headers and ory pipes? Pace Setter is the only one I'm really finding from both Jegs and Summit Racing.

Pacesetter is the go to for most people and seem to work well. Some good stainless options exist as well from Texas speed and a few others. My biggest suggestion would be a good custom tune. If you have 3.23s or 3.42s gears then 3.90s will make a huge seat of the pants difference. After that a mild cam is usually the next best place to find some power. The new tick performance stage one towmax 215/218 looks like it would be right up your alley.

are you 4x4?

TSP headers are a great product. Fitment is a little tricky on a 4x4, but it can still be done.

I'm running a 22" 2x2 Magnaflow muffler and love it.

As Batboy said, Cam/springs/pushrods is a good step next. TSP has complete kits for this.

After that, I would do TBSS intake and 90mm TB, along with a custom tune.

I've had great results on my 04 5.3 with cold air intake, Pace Setter headers and Hypertec programmer. However i will be changing from a Flowmaster to a Barla XR-1, suppose to have better flow results.
